Terms and Conditions

Welcome to PairAble. These Terms and Conditions are between you and PairAble AU Pty Ltd. By using the PairAble app, website or related services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a legally binding agreement.

PairAble is designed primarily for adults with disability, including NDIS participants.

2. Account and Profile

You agree to provide accurate and complete information.

You are responsible for protecting your login credentials.

A user may only maintain one active account unless PairAble provides written permission otherwise.

Impersonation and identity misrepresentation are prohibited.

3. Subscription and Payments

PairAble may offer free and paid features.

Paid subscriptions may be processed through Stripe or an applicable app store.

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing cycle.

Cancellation prevents future renewal but does not automatically provide a refund for unused time.

Any refund rights required under Australian Consumer Law continue to apply.

4. Privacy and Data Security

Personal information is handled in accordance with the PairAble Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy laws.

PairAble uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online platform can guarantee complete security.

5. PairAble's Role

PairAble provides a digital platform to help users discover and communicate with other people and access community, event and educational information.

PairAble does not guarantee:

  • Friendships
  • Dates
  • Relationships
  • Compatibility
  • Event outcomes
  • The conduct or intentions of another user

PairAble is not a registered NDIS provider unless explicitly stated otherwise.

PairAble does not provide medical, clinical, psychological, therapeutic or crisis-support services.

Educational and social content is general information and is not professional health advice.

6. User Conduct

Users are responsible for content they upload or share.

Users must not share content or behave in a way that is:

  • Illegal
  • Threatening
  • Harassing
  • Discriminatory
  • Fraudulent
  • Misleading
  • Sexually exploitative
  • Abusive
  • Harmful
  • In breach of another person's privacy or intellectual property

PairAble may remove content or restrict accounts that breach these rules.

7. Verification and Screening

Unless explicitly stated for a particular feature, PairAble does not guarantee that users have undergone identity verification, qualification screening or background checks.

Users should use their own judgement when communicating or meeting with another person.

8. Reporting, Moderation and Suspension

Users may report inappropriate behaviour or safety concerns through available reporting channels.

PairAble may moderate content and restrict, suspend or delete accounts where reasonably necessary, including in response to:

  • Breaches of these Terms
  • Threats to another user
  • Illegal activity
  • Harassment
  • Fraud
  • Platform misuse

PairAble does not monitor chats, calls or interactions in real time.

PairAble cannot provide an emergency response.

If you or another person is in immediate danger, call 000.

9. User Interactions

Users are responsible for deciding whether to communicate with or meet another person.

Users should take reasonable safety precautions, including meeting in an appropriate public place and informing someone they trust where appropriate.

To the extent permitted by law, PairAble is not responsible for disputes, losses or harm resulting from interactions between users.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.

10. Voice and Video Calls

PairAble may provide voice and video communication features directly or through third-party service providers.

Users must not:

  • Record another person without appropriate consent
  • Share private calls without permission
  • Use calls to harass, threaten or exploit another person
  • Display unlawful or inappropriate content

PairAble does not monitor calls in real time.

11. Events

PairAble may advertise, host or collaborate on community events.

Event conditions, prices, support arrangements, accessibility information and cancellation terms may vary between events.

Unless expressly stated:

  • Event tickets do not include personal support
  • Transport is not included
  • Personal care is not provided
  • NDIS funding is not guaranteed
  • Users remain responsible for assessing whether an event is suitable for them

Additional event-specific terms may apply.

12. Third-Party Services

PairAble may use third-party providers for payments, analytics, hosting, messaging, voice calls, video calls and other services.

PairAble is not responsible for the independent availability, actions or privacy practices of third-party providers, except where required by law.

13. Intellectual Property

PairAble branding, logos, designs, written content, software and other intellectual property belong to PairAble AU Pty Ltd or its licensors.

Users must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or reverse-engineer the platform without written permission, except where permitted by law.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, users agree to indemnify PairAble AU Pty Ltd and its directors, employees and affiliates against claims or losses arising from:

  • Their unlawful use of PairAble
  • Content they upload
  • Their breach of these Terms
  • Their infringement of another person's rights

15. Platform Changes

PairAble may update, add, remove or discontinue features and services.

Reasonable notice may be provided where a change materially affects paid services.

16. Account Termination

Users may delete their account through the available account settings or by contacting PairAble.

Deleting the app from a device may not cancel an active subscription.

Subscriptions may need to be cancelled through Stripe, the Apple App Store, Google Play or another billing portal.

PairAble may restrict or terminate access where a user breaches these Terms or creates a risk to the platform or community.

17. Disputes and Governing Law

Users should first contact PairAble and attempt to resolve a dispute informally.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights available under Australian Consumer Law or another law that cannot be excluded.

18. Changes to These Terms

PairAble may update these Terms from time to time.

Where appropriate, users may be notified through the app, website or email.

Continued use of PairAble after updated Terms take effect may constitute acceptance of those Terms.
